About Us
The UBC Neuroscience Association (UNA) is the UPN’s social community. They work to provide social and academic events to student members in order to foster a community within the undergraduate neuroscience community. Some of their biggest events have included the Neuroscience Undergraduate Research Conference (NURC), the Gala, drinks with profs, the murder mystery night, and journal clubs. While many members are UPN students, the UNA welcomes any student at UBC.

September 13th (6-8pm) – Welcome Back Social: Kick off the semester with the UBC Neuroscience Association at our Welcome Back Social, a FREE event! Whether you’re new to the major, curious about the club, or just looking to connect with fellow neuro-enthusiasts, join us for an evening of creative games to get your neurons firing, tune in for some insightful FAQs with upper-year students for invaluable advice, and enjoy some yummy food and drinks.
September 16th (4:30-7pm) – Trivia Night: Get ready for an ultimate showdown of brainpower at our Neuroscience Trivia night! We’ve combined all your favorite game show elements into one thrilling event. Test your knowledge of the brain, guess the price of organs, and see what happens when you remove a brain region.
September 19th (6-7:30pm) – Journal Club with Dr. Steven Barnes: Join us for an exciting session of the UNA’s September Journal Club! This month, we are thrilled to feature Dr. Steven Barnes, a renowned expert in the field of neuroscience. He will be presenting a paper about the effects of kindling (daily electrical stimulation) on the brain.
September 26th (6-9pm) – Medical Movie Night: Love watching movies? Then the medical movie night is for you! We’ll be showcasing a neuroscience-related movie with popcorn, pizza & soda provided!
